Environmentally sustainable architecture with an interior design based on natural light and views of the Atlantic.

Foxos is the new construction project in a residential green area carried out by the Arial group and Mobalco. The essence of Foxos is undoubtedly environmentally sustainable architecture.

Located in a privileged natural enclave, overlooking a large sandy bay and the Illa de Ons in Galicia, this residential project was constructed in a staggered manner so that the buildings were integrated with the environment; avoiding the large sized buildings more typical of an urban environment. The roofs of the different constructions have been used as exterior terraces and are covered with vegetation. The houses were constructed based on 3 components to blend into the environment: wood, concrete and vegetation.

The wood (Thermopine) acts as a construction skin and solar protection lattice by means of a system of practical shutters. Exposed concrete in a series of projections and lattices that aim to reinforce the horizontal nature of the buildings. Vegetation in the open spaces of the plot and on the roofs.

The compactness of this architectural design and the care of the envelope provide high interior comfort and low energy consumption in the homes, which will incorporate a central system for hot water, heating and air conditioning via aerothermal units. The system also has photovoltaic solar panels to heat pumps and other common electrical services.

Other aspects taken into account are a greater use of natural light, both in the homes and in common areas; the installation of solar protection units on the façade; closing systems and glass with very low thermal transmission; and construction materials that respect the environment in their production. The planned homes will have an Energy Rating A.

The interior design of the homes is based on light - with wide openings to commune with the outside and permit views of the Atlantic - and on wood, which brings warmth and naturalness to the area. All homes are equipped with Mobalco kitchens, customised to suit the owners.

The project includes different residences of 2 to 4 bedrooms, all incorporating private outdoor areas and, in some cases, private swimming pools.
